Philippines eSIM From Canada (2026): Rogers, Bell and Telus Roaming vs a Travel eSIM

Quick answer: As of 3 November 2026, a week of roaming in the Philippines costs Canadians CA$55 on a Rogers Asia Travel Pass, CA$112 on Bell Roam Better (CA$16 a day) and CA$126 on Rogers daily roaming (CA$18 a day). A 10 GB, 7-day travel eSIM on Globe is US$15.48 (about CA$21.64) in the Fizen app for a new user, 61% less than the cheapest carrier week we found.

Key takeaways

  • Rogers: the Philippines is on its Asia Travel Pass, CA$55 for 7 days, CA$70 for 14 days. Without a pass, Roam Like Home is CA$18 for each day you use the phone.
  • Bell: Roam Better is CA$16 a day outside the US, full speed up to 5 GB a day, capped at 20 charged days per billing period.
  • Fido mirrors Rogers' International Travel Pass at CA$75 for 7 days. Telus's own pages did not load for us, so check Easy Roam in the My TELUS app before you fly.
  • A travel eSIM wins for a normal trip: 10 GB for 7 days is about CA$21.64, and unlimited for 7 days is about CA$37.56, still 32% under the Rogers Asia pass.

The flight from Vancouver or Toronto is long enough to forget your phone is still on its Canadian plan. Then you switch airplane mode off at NAIA and the roaming clock starts. We read the Rogers, Bell and Fido roaming pages on 3 November 2026 and priced one week in the Philippines against a travel eSIM.

US$ figures use the Bank of Canada rate of 1.3978 for 2 November 2026. Rogers lists the Philippines on its Asia pass, next to Vietnam and Thailand. Bell slows data to 512 kbps after 5 GB a day. Telus's Easy Roam page blocked us on the day, so we could not confirm its Philippines rate.

Is a travel eSIM cheaper than Canadian roaming in the Philippines?

For most trips, yes. In the Fizen app, 10 GB for 7 days is US$15.48 for a new user, about CA$21.64: 61% less than the Rogers Asia pass and 81% less than a Bell week. Unlimited for 7 days is US$26.87, about CA$37.56. The plan runs on Globe 4G and 5G; fixed-data plans slow to 128 kbps once the data is used.

To be fair to your carrier: if you take calls every day, the CA$70 Rogers 14-day Asia pass keeps your number live for voice, which an eSIM does not.

Exclusive to new Fizen app users: US$10 of eSIM credit the moment you join, which pays for up to 30% of each plan until it is used. Pay with USDT or by card (Stripe) in the app.

Checked 3 November 2026; app prices can move by a few cents. On short 3 GB plans and on unlimited plans the two are about the same. Airalo's Philippines page lists Smart as the primary network, while Fizen's Philippines plan uses Globe, so pick the network that covers your islands.

How do you keep your Canadian number for bank codes?

A travel eSIM is data-only, so your bank's codes still go to your Canadian SIM. Keep that line on, turn Data Roaming off on it, and set the eSIM as your data line with its own data roaming on. Bell's FAQ says the daily charge starts when you make or answer a call, send a text or use data; it does not list receiving a text. Rogers charges per calendar day of use and does not say either way, so ask before you rely on it.

Mind the clock: a Rogers roaming day ends at 11:59 pm Eastern, which is about 1 pm the next day in Manila, and Bell resets its 5 GB at midnight Eastern. One quick call at lunch can open a fresh charge.

What should you set up before leaving Canada?

Install the eSIM on home Wi-Fi before the flight, on a phone that is eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked. On landing, switch the eSIM line on and allow its data roaming (why it says roaming). Most Fizen eSIMs cannot be topped up, so size the plan for the whole trip. Changed plans? An unused, not-yet-installed eSIM can usually be taken back; eligibility depends on the plan, check Package details or ask chat.
