The night before you fly: what should you do?

Do the three jobs that need home Wi-Fi and a quiet desk. They take about 20 minutes together and save you an hour of stress at the airport.

Submit your SG Arrival Card. Singapore's immigration authority (ICA) asks all travellers to submit it within 3 days before arrival, and the day you land counts. It is free. Use only the ICA e-Service or the official MyICA app. ICA warns that paid third-party sites are not linked to it.

Check your passport. The automated arrival lanes need a passport valid for at least 6 months.
Save offline: your hotel address, your booking number and your TOKEN2049 ticket or badge email as a screenshot.

What to do on the plane

Keep the phone in flight mode for the whole flight. Nothing to set up here if you did the night-before list.

Check that you can see the new eSIM line in your phone settings. On iPhone it sits under Settings, Cellular. On Android, under the SIM settings.
Write down your first two moves after landing: which transport, and which exit or pick-up point.
Drink water. Singapore is hot and humid, and conference days start early.

At Changi: the first 30 minutes after landing

Turn off flight mode and switch on the eSIM line. Then turn on data roaming for that line only and pick it as your mobile data line. Travel eSIMs usually show as roaming, that is normal.
Keep your home line on for texts if you need bank or login codes, but switch data roaming off on it so it does not use expensive roaming data.
Clear immigration. ICA says all foreign visitors can use the automated lanes on arrival, with no pre-enrolment.
Send one message to your team or host: landed, ETA.
Book your ride or head to the MRT.

How do I get from Changi to Marina Bay Sands?

You have three easy options. Pick by time of day, luggage and budget.
