How to Transfer a GOMO eSIM to a New Phone (2026 Steps)

Quick answer: To transfer a GOMO eSIM to another phone, scan your original GOMO eSIM QR code on the new phone: GOMO says that since 12 June 2026 you can move it to another device with no limit. Lost the QR email? Resend it from the GOMO PH app (Account, SIM Management), and only if the original code fails does GOMO issue a paid replacement QR, with the same number.

Key takeaways

  • No transfer limit since 12 June 2026. GOMO's help centre says you can move your eSIM to another device as often as you need by rescanning the original QR code.
  • The QR email is the key. Resend it in the app under Account, SIM Management, up to three times a month.
  • Fees only when the original code fails. A replacement eSIM QR code via Facebook Messenger costs a fee, and you keep your number.
  • Flying out after the switch? Keep GOMO on for incoming texts and add a travel eSIM for data at your destination.

The new phone is out of the box, the old one still has your GOMO line, and your bank, GCash and every OTP live on that number. The fear is simple: tap the wrong thing and the number vanishes. It will not. GOMO changed its rules in June 2026, and the move now takes a QR code and ten minutes on Wi-Fi. We read GOMO's own help pages on 4 November 2026; here is the order that works.

Can I transfer my GOMO eSIM to a new phone?

Yes. GOMO's help centre answer, updated on 1 July 2026, says that effective 12 June 2026 you can transfer your eSIM to another device with no limits, simply by scanning your original eSIM QR code. Before that date GOMO marketed its eSIM with up to four free device transfers, so older guides that warn about a cap are out of date.

Your number does not change. GOMO says that even when a replacement QR code is needed, you keep your original number. Deleting the eSIM from a phone does not deactivate the number either: GOMO compares it to removing a physical SIM.

How do I move a GOMO eSIM step by step?

  1. Find the QR code. It is in GOMO's order confirmation email. No email? In the GOMO PH app go to Account, SIM Management, "Resend a copy of my eSIM QR code" (up to three times a month).
  2. Prepare the new phone. It must support eSIM, be network-unlocked, have a free eSIM slot and sit on stable Wi-Fi.
  3. Scan on the new phone. iPhone: Settings, Cellular, Add eSIM, then scan. Android: Settings, Connections, SIM Card Manager, Add Mobile Plan, Scan Carrier QR Code.
  4. Wait for your number to appear. On an iPhone the line may show as "Globe" first, because GOMO runs on Globe's network. Activation usually takes minutes, sometimes up to 24 hours.
  5. Open the GOMO PH app on the new phone, follow any "Activate your SIM" prompt, then remove the old phone's GOMO eSIM.

Does iPhone eSIM Quick Transfer work with GOMO?

Apple's Set up eSIM on iPhone page (published 22 October 2026) says Quick Transfer moves a line between iPhones only if your carrier supports it, with both phones nearby on iOS 18.4 or later. GOMO's help pages do not mention Quick Transfer; the route GOMO documents is the QR code. If the Transfer From Nearby iPhone option appears and works, fine. If it errors, stop and rescan the QR instead.

Android to iPhone, or iPhone to Android: Apple says some carriers support it on iOS 26, otherwise the carrier gives you a QR code. Google says the same for Android 12 and later: if the new phone does not detect a transfer, contact the carrier. With GOMO, the original QR is that code.

What breaks a GOMO eSIM transfer, and what costs a fee?

SituationWhat GOMO says (read 4 November 2026)Fee
New phone, original QR worksRescan it; no transfer limit since 12 June 2026None stated
QR email lostResend in the app, up to 3 times a monthNone stated
Original QR gives an errorMessage GOMO on Facebook Messenger to verify detailsFee for a replacement QR, same number
eSIM deleted by mistakeNumber stays active; rescan the original QRNone stated
Phone lost or stolenReport in the app; two selfies holding two valid IDs and a notarized affidavit of lossFee for the replacement eSIM

The one real trap: moving the night before a flight. If the new phone needs the 24 hours GOMO allows, you land without your OTP line. Do it at home, days ahead.

Flying out soon? Keep GOMO for OTPs and add a travel eSIM

GOMO says that abroad, even without a roaming promo, you can still receive incoming texts as long as the roaming partner has active 2G or 3G service. That caveat matters: Singapore's operators announced in 2023 that 3G would be switched off on 31 July 2024, so test before you rely on a bank code there. GOMO local data works only in the Philippines unless you buy a GOMO roaming offer.

The other route is a data-only travel eSIM next to GOMO. In the Fizen app, Japan plans run on KDDI or SoftBank depending on the plan, and the Korea and Singapore country plans list LG U+ and SIMBA (Fizen catalogue, 4 November 2026). Set data to the travel line and keep GOMO on for texts. New app users get US$10 of eSIM credit as a gift, and you pay with USDT or card via Stripe. Your money. Your freedom. No borders.

Frequently asked questions

How do I transfer my GOMO eSIM to another phone?

Scan your original GOMO eSIM QR code on the new phone. Since 12 June 2026 GOMO allows transfers with no limit. If you cannot find the code, resend it from the GOMO PH app under Account, SIM Management.

Is there a fee to move a GOMO eSIM to a new phone?

Not when the original QR code works. GOMO charges a fee only for a replacement eSIM QR code, issued through Facebook Messenger after it verifies your details. Your number stays the same.

Will I lose my GOMO number or data if I delete the eSIM?

No. GOMO says deleting the eSIM does not deactivate your number. You can add it back by rescanning the original QR code. To end the number you must ask GOMO on Facebook Messenger.

Why does my new iPhone show Globe instead of GOMO?

GOMO runs on Globe's network, so an iPhone can label the eSIM as Globe before activation. GOMO says it is still your GOMO line and works the same as a physical GOMO SIM.

Can I get GOMO OTP texts while travelling abroad?

GOMO says you can receive incoming texts abroad without a roaming promo if the roaming partner has active 2G or 3G service. Where 3G is gone, delivery can fail, so test on arrival.

Keep GOMO. Add data abroad.

Keep GOMO for texts and add a travel eSIM for Japan, Korea, Singapore and 150+ more countries. Free app, US$10 of eSIM credit as a gift for new users, pay with USDT or card.
