- Description: Phu Quoc's best-known night market on Bach Dang Street lost its lease and was dismantled in 2026. Official 2026 prices for the Hon Thom cable car and Vinpearl Safari, what to do instead in the evening, and where QR works on the island.

**Quick answer:** As of 2 November 2026, the Hon Thom cable car costs VND 850,000 for an adult and VND 700,000 for a child of 1 to 1.4 m on Sun World's price list, and Vinpearl Safari costs VND 850,000 for an adult and VND 650,000 for a child on Vinwonders' offer page, with no separate foreigner rate on either. The Duong Dong night market on Bach Dang Street no longer exists: its lease ended on 31 December 2025 and local authorities prepared to dismantle it in March 2026, so older guides are out of date.

**Key takeaways**

- **The famous Duong Dong night market is gone.** Its 10-year lease ended on 31 December 2025, trading was allowed only to 28 February 2026, and a dismantling was being prepared in March (VnExpress, DTiNews).
- **Cable car 2026:** VND 850,000 adult, VND 700,000 child (1 to 1.4 m), free under 1 m, book on booking.sunworld.vn or at An Thoi station (Sun World, 23 January 2026).
- **Vinpearl Safari 2026:** VND 850,000 adult, VND 650,000 child or 60+, free under 100 cm; the park closes at 4 pm and admits no one after 3 pm (Vinwonders).
- **Night markets and stalls are mostly cash.** Where a shop or restaurant shows a VietQR code, a foreign visitor can pay it with QR Pay.

You land on Phu Quoc with a plan: grilled seafood at the Duong Dong night market, the long cable car over the sea, and a morning with the animals. Two of the three still work. The third quietly vanished this year, and half the guides online have not noticed.

[Get the Fizen app](https://link.fizen.io/s/KRYYDr8mgF?ref=blog.fizen.io) and your travel eSIM gift is waiting: exclusive to new users, US$10 of eSIM credit the moment you join, which pays for up to 30% of each data plan until it is used. Pay with USDT or by card in the app, and the same app pays the QR at the pho stall and the Grab driver.

## Is the Phu Quoc night market still open?

The Duong Dong night market on Bach Dang Street ran on a 10-year lease signed in 2015 that expired on 31 December 2025\. Phu Quoc authorities confirmed on 9 January 2026 that traders could stay until 28 February, after Tet, to "tighten urban order management" (VnExpress International, 10 January 2026). On 12 March 2026 DTiNews reported that officials were preparing to dismantle the Bach Dang pedestrian street and night market, with relocation plans still being prepared and no new site named.

The island tourism website visitphuquoc.com.vn still lists the market at 6 Bach Dang Street from 6 pm to 11.30 pm, but the page has no date and contradicts the news. VnExpress named other evening markets: Grand World Night Market in the north, Sonasea Bai Truong and Vuifest Night Market in Sunset Town. Opening hours for those differ between sources, so check on the day.

## How much is the Phu Quoc cable car in 2026?

Sun World's price list of 23 January 2026 gives these round-trip prices for the Hon Thom cable car. It lists one price per category, with no foreigner surcharge.

| Ticket | Adult | Child (1 to 1.4 m) | Under 1 m |
| -------------------------- | ------------- | ------------------ | ---------- |
| Cable car round trip | VND 850,000 | VND 700,000 | Free |
| Cable car and lunch buffet | VND 1,150,000 | VND 900,000 | Not stated |

The cable car runs about 9 am to 11.30 am and 1.30 pm to 5 pm on that list, with a lunch break. Book at booking.sunworld.vn, where you pay online and get a QR code for the gate, in the Sun Paradise Land app, or at the An Thoi station counter. Sun World does not say which payment types it accepts, so check at checkout. A WOW Pass for priority access was VND 300,000 a person.

## How much is Vinpearl Safari in 2026?

Vinwonders' notice says entrance prices were adjusted from 7 January 2026\. Its offer page lists these prices.

| Ticket | Adult (140 cm+) | Child (100 to 140 cm) or 60+ |
| ---------------------------- | --------------- | ---------------------------- |
| Vinpearl Safari | VND 850,000 | VND 650,000 |
| VinWonders and Safari, 1 day | VND 1,500,000 | VND 1,100,000 |
| Night Safari and Teddy Jones | VND 950,000 | VND 710,000 |

Children under 100 cm are free, and the 60+ rate needs proof of age. The park opens 9 am to 4 pm and does not admit anyone after 3 pm; the morning show is 10 am to 10.30 am, and the afternoon show runs on weekdays only. The notice also lists a lower rate for local residents, which it does not define, so visitors should expect the standard prices above. The offer page header shows a period ending 30 June 2026, so confirm the live price on the official site.

## Where does QR work and where do you need cash?

| Place | What to expect | What to carry |
| ------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Night-market stalls | Many stalls cash only, per a local guide | Small notes |
| Seafood grills and restaurants | Often a VietQR at the till | Ask for the code, check the name |
| Cable car, Safari tickets | Pay online or at the counter; payment types not published | A card or cash as backup |
| Grab and taxis | In-app or cash | See our [Grab guide](https://blog.fizen.io/grab-payment-methods-vietnam-2026/) |

Sun Paradise Land says restaurants and larger shops accept Visa and Mastercard, while street stalls prefer dong (4 August 2026). Fizen QR Pay lets foreign visitors pay VietQR, VNPay, MoMo and ZaloPay codes from USDT, with the amount in dong shown before you confirm. It is for visitors only: residents of Vietnam cannot use it in Vietnam, and it pays only the QR codes of Vietnamese account holders. The order is: create or import your non-custodial Fizen wallet, get USDT on Solana or BNB Chain into it, deposit from the wallet into QR Pay (no gas on BNB Chain, a little SOL on Solana; KYC per wallet and per device, and a new device needs KYC again), then scan and pay. USDT on another network, or another token, cannot be deposited. Limits: US$800 per payment and US$1,000 per week, no daily limit. The Fizen wallet is self-custody. QR Pay works differently: USDT you move into QR Pay is governed by the Fizen QR Pay Terms, so only move in what you plan to spend. ## What do people who have been there say?

I paraphrase 2026 travel guides here, not forum threads I could open.

- Ask the seafood price per kilo before anything is weighed, and watch it go on the scale. One couple reported about VND 680,000 for dinner for two.
- Agree the cooking method and whether cooking costs extra before you order.
- Real pearls come from a pearl farm shop with a certificate, not a string at a stall.
- Reviewers say the same seafood costs less a few streets from the market.

## Do you need data on Phu Quoc?

For Grab, booking links and the ticket QR, yes. As of 2 November 2026, Fizen's Asia plan (18 countries) runs on Viettel Mobile 4G in Vietnam, and fixed-data plans slow to 128 kbps after the allowance. Check the eSIM tab in the app for current plans. For a longer stay see our [Phu Quoc long-stay eSIM guide](https://blog.fizen.io/esim-phu-quoc-long-stay-2026/).
