- Description: Most people hold USDT on Tron. Most travel payments want Solana or BNB Chain. Here are the three ways to move it before you fly, and the five-minute test that saves you a bad afternoon abroad.

**Quick answer:** To move USDT from Tron to Solana or BNB Chain you have three routes: withdraw from an exchange directly on the Solana or BNB Chain network, send your Tron USDT to an exchange and withdraw it on the new network, or use a cross-chain bridge that supports Tron. Do it at home a few days before you fly, test with a small amount first, and keep a little TRX for the Tron fee. Fizen QR Pay and Fizen eSIM payments take USDT on Solana or BNB Chain only.

**Key takeaways**

- **Never send Tron USDT straight to a Solana or BNB Chain address.** The networks are separate. Move it with an exchange withdrawal or a bridge.
- **If your USDT is still on an exchange, you may not need to bridge at all.** Pick Solana or BNB Chain as the withdrawal network.
- **Tron needs TRX for the transfer.** USDT on Tron is a smart-contract token, and the network burns TRX for the energy a transfer uses.
- **Test small, then send the rest.** A US$5 test at home is cheaper than a stuck payment at a counter in Hanoi or Cebu.

You have US$600 of USDT sitting on Tron because that is where your exchange or your last client paid you. Your flight to Da Nang is on Friday. Then you read the small print: the travel app you plan to pay with takes USDT on Solana or BNB Chain, not Tron. Nothing is wrong with your money. It is simply on the wrong road, and the fix takes about ten minutes if you do it at home rather than at a market stall with a queue behind you.

## Why does the network matter if it is all USDT?

Tether issues USDT separately on many blockchains, including Tron, Solana, BNB Smart Chain and Ethereum. Each version lives only on its own chain. A Tron address and a Solana address are not interchangeable, and an app that accepts USDT on Solana cannot see USDT that sits on Tron.

That is why a payment app names its networks. Fizen QR Pay, which lets visitors pay local QR codes in Vietnam and the Philippines, is funded only with USDT on Solana or BNB Chain. USDT on another network, or another token, cannot be deposited into QR Pay. The Fizen eSIM store takes the same two networks for USDT, or a card.

## What are the three ways to move USDT from Tron to Solana?

| Route | Best when | What to watch |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| A. Withdraw from the exchange on Solana or BNB Chain | Your USDT is still on an exchange | Choose the network on the withdrawal screen, not Tron; the exchange shows its fee first |
| B. Send Tron USDT to an exchange, then withdraw on the new network | Your USDT is in a Tron wallet and you already use an exchange | Two transfers, two fees, and the exchange's own checks |
| C. Use a cross-chain bridge that supports Tron | You hold your own wallet and want to skip the exchange | Check the route, the fee shown and the token you will receive |

Route A is the one most travellers miss. If the money is still on an exchange, there is nothing to bridge. You simply choose Solana or BNB Chain when you withdraw and paste the matching address from your wallet.

## How do you move it step by step?

### Route A: straight from an exchange

1. Open the Fizen app and copy your USDT receive address for Solana or for BNB Chain. Check which network the screen says.
2. On the exchange, start a USDT withdrawal and pick the same network: Solana, or BNB Smart Chain (often labelled BEP20).
3. Send US$5 first. When it lands, send the rest.

### Route B and C: from a Tron wallet

1. Make sure the Tron wallet holds some TRX. A USDT transfer on Tron runs a smart contract, and Tron's own documentation says TRX is burned to cover the energy a contract call uses when you have none staked.
2. Either send the USDT to your exchange's Tron deposit address and withdraw it on Solana or BNB Chain (route B), or open a bridge that lists a Tron to Solana or Tron to BNB Chain route for USDT (route C).
3. Before you confirm a bridge, read the amount you will receive and the token name. You want USDT on the destination chain, not a wrapped look-alike your app will not accept.
4. Wait for the arrival on the destination chain before you move anything else.

Already holding USDT on a chain the app supports? Swap and Bridge in the Fizen app moves USDT between chains it supports, where the feature is available on your device. Open it and check whether your source network is listed. If Tron is not offered to you there, routes A or B do the job.

## Solana or BNB Chain: which should you pick?

Both work for QR Pay and for eSIM payments in the Fizen app, so pick the one your exchange or bridge handles most cheaply. Two practical differences:

- **Solana** transactions are paid in SOL, so a wallet you use on Solana outside the app may need a little SOL.
- **BNB Chain** deposits into QR Pay carry no gas for you, which is handy if you do not want to hold BNB.

Whichever you choose, use the same one every time. Switching networks trip by trip is how most wrong-network mistakes happen.

## When should you do it, and how much should you move?

Do it at home, two or three days before the flight, on Wi-Fi you trust. That leaves time for an exchange check or a slow bridge without a taxi meter running. Move what you expect to spend on the trip plus a margin, not your whole savings.

For QR Pay specifically, the limits are US$800 per payment and US$1,000 per week, with no daily limit, and the amount in local currency shows before you confirm. The Fizen wallet is self-custody: you hold the keys. QR Pay works differently: USDT you move into QR Pay is governed by the Fizen QR Pay Terms, so only move in what you plan to spend that week.

## What does the trip look like once this is done?

You land with USDT already on the right network. You top up QR Pay from the wallet in two taps, scan the code at the banh mi cart or the jeepney terminal kiosk, and the eSIM you bought the night before is already connected. The network question never comes up again.

Fizen is backed by an investment from Tether, the issuer of USDT, and is not offered to US Persons. Where you get your USDT is up to you; Fizen does not sell it.

## Frequently asked questions

#### Can I send USDT from Tron to a Solana address directly?

No. Tron and Solana are separate networks. Move it through an exchange withdrawal on the Solana network or a bridge that supports Tron to Solana.

#### Do I need TRX to send USDT on Tron?

In most cases yes. USDT on Tron is a smart-contract token, and the network burns TRX to pay for the energy a transfer uses unless you have energy staked or delegated.

#### Is it better to bridge or to use an exchange?

If your USDT is already on an exchange, withdraw it on Solana or BNB Chain; there is nothing to bridge. If it is in your own Tron wallet, an exchange round trip or a bridge both work. Compare the fees each shows before you confirm.

#### Can I fund Fizen QR Pay with USDT on Tron?

No. QR Pay is funded only with USDT on Solana or BNB Chain. USDT on another network, or another token, cannot be deposited.

#### Does Fizen sell USDT?

No. You bring USDT you already hold, on Solana or BNB Chain, from wherever you get it.

#### How long does a Tron to Solana move take?

An exchange withdrawal or bridge usually completes within minutes, but exchange checks and busy routes can slow it. That is why it is worth doing a few days before you fly.
